The Art Tent
Creating a space for Emergency Aid Coalition clients to express themselves through visual art.
Open art studio weekly in the EAC parking lot for the fall and spring semesters.

What is it?
The Art Tent promotes mutuality over service. We are not providing the opportunity to use our art supplies. Rather, the art is merely a medium of bridge building. We recognize that those who might participate are not normally able to hold a conversation or meaningfully interact with people who are experiencing homelessness. This program recognizes that all people have hopes and dreams, we all experience a range of human emotions, and all need wholeness in our lives.
What does the work entail?
We offer a weekly open art studio in the parking lot of the Emergency Aid Coalition for the fall and spring semesters. The Art Tent is open to Emergency Aid Coalition clients and anyone passing by who is interested in this wellness through art experience.
Listening Agreements (adapted from Healing Circles):
Treat each other with kindness and respect.
Listen with compassion and curiosity.
Honor each other’s unique ways to healing and don’t presume to advise or fix or save each other.
Hold all stories confidential.
Trust each of us has the guidance we need.
Rely on the power of silence to access that guidance.
