Chamber Music America’s Ensemble of the Year, the Apollo Chamber Players, perform Texas composer Julia Smith’s Quartet for Strings, folk music from Greece and Armenia, and Astor Piazzolla’s Tango Ballet.

Members of the Mercury Chamber Orchestra, with Emily Amos, harpsichord, play J. S. Bach’s uplifting Brandenburg Concertos No 3 in G major and No. 5 in D major.

Organist David Briggs, artist-in-residence at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City, improvises a dramatic symphonic accompaniment to Cecil B. de Mille’s dramatic silent movie “King of Kings” (1927), depicted the life and passion of Christ in a truly moving way. Using the full resources of St. Paul’s grand Schantz pipe organ, this will be David Briggs’ 62nd performance of this amazing work. An event not to be missed.
